Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National park

On your arrival at the airport, our company guide will receive you and then take you for the city tour were you will visit the Genocide Memorial Centre at Gisozi or to the market place to see and buy some handicraft and also see the Rwanda lifestyle. This country has got beautiful land scape that features the highlands as well as the green vegetation. There is variety of fauna and flora in Rwanda that includes; the mountain gorillas, which are admired by international visitors and also qualifies it to be among the many promising tourist hub in East Africa as well as Africa at Large. This drive to volcanoes takes about two and half hours and on your arrival, check in at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in the park

Have breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for your briefing about the all guidelines and the rules of a gorilla safari before you head for gorilla trekking into the forest. There is no real time known for this wonderful exercise however coming face to face with these species, it’s a wonderful moment worth taking. After, you will return to the lodge where you will have your lunch. You can also use these last hours of the day for visiting the lake bulera and Ruhondo . After relax at the lodge.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking & drive to Lake Kivu

After enjoying your breakfast, you will go to the head offices and get briefed about golden monkey trekking with in volcanoes National park. Trekking these monkeys is so wonderful most especially when you take snaps and associate in different ways as they play, seek and hide which is also a great deal for the guests. These golden monkeys live in Virunga Conservation Area and have been modified in two groups. The Kabatwa group is found near the park headquarters and the Musanga group is near the Karosimbi which is a longer walking distance. The tour is so wonderful and also full of photo opportunities.

Have lunch and then take a tour to Gisenyi on the shoreline of Lake Kivu in the albertine Rift Valley. Lake Kivu is also among the African great Lakes. It’s located on the DRC – Rwanda boarder, it lies on an altitude of 1,460m and covers an area of about 2700km. it has got a depth of 480m and is ranked 15th in the world. Inside the lake, there lies the world’s tenth largest Inland Island, the Idjwi and the minute Island of Tshegera that lies with the margins of Virunga National park. The settlement areas that are found here include; Goma, Bukavu, Kalehe, Sake, Kabare, Kibuye and Gisenyi as well as Cyangugu.

Day 4: Have a boat cruise & transfer to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast and then take a boat ride to the islands of Lake kivu , you will visit Napoleop Island, Amahoro and the Nkombo Islands as well as a tour to the fishing villages, the rural coffee washing stations and Nyamyumba hot springs. You will return to the main land for dinner and overnight

Day 5: Kigali visit as well as departure

Have breakfast and after proceed to Kigali city and visit the genocide memorial centres, Gisozi and Murambi in Kigali where the history of the genocide in Rwanda is also given in details. A safari to this genocide site is good to many guests which is an expressive experience. On, be dropped to the airport for the departure flight.
