Tour overview

The tour starts and ends in Kigali the capital of Rwanda. It includes a gorilla permit of worth $750 per person in the final costing. You will track the gorillas with in volcanoes national park and also view many other animals including the golden monkeys. You will also visit Lake Kivu and enjoy a boat cruise on this Lake.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Wake up by 4: 30 a.m and have breakfast in the morning and after you will be driven to the headquarters for briefing and after start your gorilla trek by 5:00 am. This will last between 2 to 3 hours. After the briefing, the driver will drive you to the main point where the tracking in Rwanda will take place.


All this depends on your assigned gorilla family. You will take hiking into the woodland in search of the Rwanda mountain gorillas. These are the most beloved mammal species to many visitors in Rwanda. Once you bump into them, you will have to keep around them for one hour. Take their photos and look at them closely before you ranger guides lead you back to starting base of the day’s trekking. After the trek, you will have lunch and also have an overnight.

Day 2: Have a boat cruise on Lake Kivu & transfer to Kigali city

Have breakfast and after transfer to Lake Kivu where you will have a boat cruise on the lake and after return for your lunch at the lodge before transferring to Kigali which will take 2 hours. You will be taken to the airport or at your lodge in Kigali making it the end of your gorilla safari.
